Max Rosen worked as a program director at a large residential summer camp throughout college. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Amherst College in 2007, and spent much of the next five years teaching the SAT in classrooms, one on one, and at the Socratic Summer Academy, which he founded in 2010.
In 2015, he graduated from Harvard Law School, as valedictorian of his graduating class. He currently lives and works in New York City, where he and Alyssa, SSA’s executive director and a founding staff member, regularly discuss Socratic Summer Academy and how the curriculum can evolve to both stay true to its roots and never stop improving.
Max believes that education can and should be exciting - that a classroom can feel like a summer camp. At Harvard Law, he worked to organize start-up events for educational entrepreneurship and studied education law and policy.
Max and Alyssa also co-founded a non-profit SAT/leadership/college readiness camp which has been raising SAT scores since 2013 - the Yleana Leadership Academy, of which Alyssa is also Executive Director.
